# HireBrazilDevs > HireBrazilDevs is a Brazilian software studio that places senior Brazilian software engineers on U.S. product teams as dedicated, full-time contractors, working U.S. business hours from a time zone one to two hours ahead of New York, on rolling monthly contracts with no recruiting fee. ## Facts - Engineers work U.S. business hours, not overnight shifts. - Brazil is UTC−3: one to two hours ahead of U.S. Eastern time, year round. - Pricing is a flat monthly rate per engineer, published on the site. - Contracts are month to month with 30 days notice and no recruiting fee. - Engineers are contractors of HireBrazilDevs, not of the client — no Brazilian entity needed. - First vetted candidates are presented within 5 business days. ## Pricing (USD, per engineer, per month, full time) - **Mid-level engineer** (3–5 years): $3,500/month. Ships well-scoped features independently. Needs a defined backlog. - **Senior engineer** (6–10 years): $4,900/month. Owns a service or product area end to end. Reviews others’ code. - **Tech lead / staff engineer** (10+ years): $6,400/month. Sets architecture, leads a squad, interfaces with your stakeholders. No recruiting fee. No placement fee. No annual minimum. 30 days notice in either direction. Free replacement within the first 30 days. The rate is the same for every technology. ## Time zone Brazil is UTC-3 and has not observed daylight saving time since 2019. Sao Paulo is one hour ahead of New York during U.S. daylight saving and two hours ahead during U.S. standard time. Daily overlap with a 9-to-5 U.S. workday: 7-8 hours Eastern, 6-7 Central, 5-6 Mountain, 4-6 Pacific with a shifted schedule. Engineers do not work night shifts. ## Key pages - [Pricing](https://hirebrazildevs.com/pricing): full rate card, what is included, worked team example. - [Rate index](https://hirebrazildevs.com/rate-index): U.S. vs Brazil cost by skill and by metro, with the formula and its BLS anchor published. You direct the work; the supplier handles employment, payment and replacement. - [Nearshore software development](https://hirebrazildevs.com/what-is/nearshore-software-development): Nearshore software development means hiring engineers in a nearby country whose working hours substantially overlap your own. For a U.S. company that means Latin America, typically zero to three hours of time difference — as opposed to offshore, where the gap is six to thirteen hours. - [Dedicated development team](https://hirebrazildevs.com/what-is/dedicated-development-team): A dedicated development team is a group of external engineers who work exclusively for one client, full time, over an ongoing period — as opposed to a shared or pooled team whose members split their hours across several customers. Exclusivity is the defining feature, and it is the one most often quietly dropped. - [Employer of record (EOR)](https://hirebrazildevs.com/what-is/employer-of-record): An employer of record is a company that legally employs a worker in their country on your behalf, handling payroll, taxes, benefits and compliance, while the person works day to day for you. It typically costs $500–700 per person per month on top of salary and does not find or screen candidates. - [Software development outsourcing](https://hirebrazildevs.com/what-is/software-development-outsourcing): Software development outsourcing is contracting an external company to build software for you, with the vendor responsible for managing the work and delivering an agreed outcome. It is distinguished from staff augmentation, where external engineers work under your management on your roadmap. - [IP assignment clause](https://hirebrazildevs.com/what-is/ip-assignment): An IP assignment clause is contract language transferring ownership of intellectual property created under an agreement from the person who made it to the company paying for it. In international contractor agreements it is essential, because U.S. work-for-hire doctrine does not automatically apply across borders. - [Time zone overlap](https://hirebrazildevs.com/what-is/time-zone-overlap): Time zone overlap is the number of hours per day that two people in different time zones are both at work. It is the single best predictor of how a distributed engineering engagement will feel, because it determines whether a blocked task is unblocked in fifteen minutes or the next morning. ## Alternatives (6 pages) Comparisons against other ways of hiring engineers abroad.
